I'm super passionate about taking care of skin the natural way. It's amazing how the skin can glow when it is treated gently. Cleansed softly, moisturised daily and protected with a strong SPF.
Sometimes I do want to cleanse my skin intensely, without stripping it of its natural oils and moisture. This is my go-to face mask .... perfect for that!!
The secret to this recipe is fresh, ripe mango and semi-firm avocado.
Mango contains enzymes which are not only great for digestion, but also gently exfoliate and brighten skin. Avocado contains vitamins and fatty acids which have incredible skin moisturising properties. I also add coconut oil and lastly honey to my face mask because it also has anti-inflammatory properties.
If you have oily skin (and no visible blemishes), you could add 1-2 teaspoons of lime juice for a more intensive cleanse. Lime juice contains citric acid which breaks down dead skin cells. If your skin is dry, has spots or blemishes I would skip the lemon juice, as it may aggravate the skin. Personally, I do not use lime juice.
In addition to leaving the skin super soft and glowing this face mask tastes amazing!! No need to leave left-overs of this mask in the fridge.
For this recipe it's important to blend the mixture well well so that the mango pieces break up. If you don't have a blender it's not a big deal, you could just mash it, alongside the avocado, coconut oil and honey with a fork or a whisk.
I use this mask whenever I want a bit of a deep clean and intense glow. I hope you enjoy trying it!
I've given this recipe in ratios, so you can make as much or little as you need depending on the parts of the skin you would like to apply this mask.

I always apply a natural face oil afterwards. If you would like the recipe for this also, let me know!
